Company History

Alex Marsh, set up A.C. Coaching Ltd in January 2003 with the intention of delivering a variety of sporting activities to primary school children in and around the Greater Manchester area. He devised a special curriculum that we call ‘The Best Way’. It is designed to teach the children of all ages and abilities, through what we call a ’learning through game philosophy’. The idea was to cut out line drills where children would get cold and bored, and replace this with the learning games philosophy, where we based the curriculum on maximum participation, in which each and every child has a ball, has fun and will want to keep attending every session.

A.C. Coaching Ltd, is also an educational company, in which we aim not only to develop the child’s sporting abilities such as co-ordination, but also the social skills, communication, teamwork etc. Alongside the curriculum, we also have in place a very strict child protection policy, in which each coach not only has to obtain a CRB certificate, but also has to complete a Code of Conduct, which covers what to do if any problems arise, who to contact etc.

Each coach that enters a school will have a fully valid CRB check and will also have completed and signed a Code of Conduct. Alex Marsh, has a wide variety of coaching experience, he has spent several months working on campsites in France, then he worked for Challenger Sports in the UK just as a coach, then in 2002, he started work for Arc Sports Development in which he was made Regional Manager for Greater Manchester. In the midst of this he worked part time for Blackburn Rovers as an academy coach. When Arc Sports Development closed, he set up A.C. Coaching Ltd.

The company originally start out as predominantly football, though now more recently we are moving into other sports like netball, rounders and even more recently we now have a couple of dance teachers working alongside us,  which will open up more children’s eyes to different sports more than just football would.

Also now A.C. Coaching Ltd, has developed very strong working links with Oldham Athletic Girls & Ladies F.C, and 3D Dynamos F.C. and also Inspired Sports Management in with the 3 elements aim to take grassroots football to the highest possible level.
